AKARTA: Concerned about growing fundamentalism and disappointed with the government's policy on education and environment, film actress-cum-singer Sophia Latjuba said she would leave the country in September and move to the U.S.

"It's mixed ... the growing fundamentalism, the government, environment," Sophie, as she is fondly called, told The Jakarta Post on Friday.

Sophie, who was once involved in rallies along with education activists rejecting the national examination system, said her daughter -- from her previous marriage with jazz musician Indra Lesmana, rising teen starlet Eva Celia -- would study performing arts in Los Angeles.

"I'm trying to find a job in LA," said the Berlin-born actress who has starred in nine films, including teen flick Catatan Si Boy (Boy's Note).

Sophie, who has a daughter from her second marriage with American Michael Villarreal, has produced eight albums, including a duet with legendary singer the late Chrisye
